What began as a passion nearly a decade ago gradually grew into a vision and a company. At 17, Christos started Altair’s activities, focusing on outreach and making space sciences and astronomy accessible and approachable for everyone in Cyprus. From those early steps, the work quickly expanded to include free educational programs, scientific engagement, and public events.
In 2025, he formally established Altair as an organization, bringing together a team of dedicated individuals who share the same commitment. Under his leadership, they have engaged tens of thousands of people through mostly free school visits, lectures, podcasts, videos, workshops, and stargazing events, building a strong and growing community around space.
Beyond outreach, Christos has led Altair into charity initiatives, European projects, and collaborations with major stakeholders in various industries in Cyprus. Their efforts have also been recognized internationally, winning European competitions in space technology applications and highlighting the entrepreneurial pathway he has taken in transforming personal curiosity into meaningful impact.
Today, Altair Astronomy & Space stands as a platform for science, education, and innovation, and he remains committed to expanding its reach, strengthening collaborations, and inspiring the next generation to reach for the stars.
