I proudly nominate Andreas Vasiliou, CEO and co-founder of ABLEBOOK, for the CBN Young Dragon Awards. A trailblazing entrepreneur and one of the first young founders with a disability in Cyprus, Andreas has transformed personal adversity into national innovation.
After earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cyprus, Andreas faced significant employment challenges due to his disability. Refusing to accept exclusion, he launched ABLEBOOK; Cyprus’s first digital accessibility platform; empowering people with disabilities through smart, inclusive solutions.
Achievements & Impact
Under his leadership, ABLEBOOK won the Social Innovation Award (OEB 2023), the Young Enterprising Award (KEBE 2023), and was honoured by the IDEA Alumni Network for social contribution.
Strategic Reach
Through partnerships with organisations like Bank of Cyprus, EKO, Alfamega, and 10 Municipalities, ABLEBOOK has mapped over 1,500 accessible venues and introduced Cyprus’s first smart path planning tool and AbleCard membership.
Community Leadership
Andreas promotes accessibility through school workshops, local events, and national platforms such as the Youth Tech Fest and marathons, building awareness and inspiring change.
Visionary Growth
From a local startup to a national infrastructure partner, ABLEBOOK continues to scale with regional expansion plans in progress.
Why He’s a Young Dragon
Andreas exemplifies the spirit of the award: bold vision, social impact, and early achievement. His journey is a powerful example of inclusive entrepreneurship in action.
