Alexis, a Partner at BDO Cyprus, serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the firm, where he also leads the Advisory & Technology Risk Department. Throughout his tenure, he has spearheaded the technological transformation of BDO, modernizing its systems, enhancing digital resilience, and driving innovation across all functions. Under his leadership, the firm’s Advisory Department has seen a substantial increase in profitability, reflecting his strategic vision and operational impact.
With over 15 years of experience spanning IT, information security, data privacy, business consulting, and management, Alexis brings a multidisciplinary perspective to risk and advisory services. He serves a diverse range of clients, from local SMEs to multi-billion euro corporations, both in Cyprus and internationally, providing tailored guidance and high-impact solutions.
Academically accomplished, Alexis holds a PhD in Information Security, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a Master’s degree in Information Security, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA). He also holds several professional certifications, including: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional), EDRP (EC-Council Disaster Recovery Professional) and CompTIA Security+
